Coqs et dragons

Pour célébrer la nouvelle année et le calendrier chinois, les élèves ont modelé un coq en argile. 

To celebrate the new year and the Chinese calendar, the pupils modelled a cock in clay.

On les laisse à sécher, puis ils sont cuits dans le four de l'école.
We let them dry, then they are cooked in the oven of the school.

Cette année nous avons travaillé avec mes élèves petits, grands et adultes sur le thème des dragons et des créatures imaginaires. 

This year we worked with my small, big and grown-up pupils on the theme of dragons and the imaginary creatures.

Projets de dragons d'abord dessinés et mis en couleurs. Puis fabriqués en cartons et articulés avec des attaches parisiennes. 

Ensuite viens la mise forme en volume, en papier journal et scotch pour faire les structures principales. Les pattes en fil de fer aluminium, facile à couper et à modeler.

Projects of dragons first drawn and put in colors. Then made in cardboard and articulated with Parisian ties. 

Then come the shaping by volume, newspaper and scotch tape to make the main structures. Legs made of aluminum wire, easy to cut and to model.

Ensuite viennent les premières couches de papier mâché, et la réalisation des ailes en fil de fer et papier de soie.

Then come the first layers of papier-mâché, and the realization of wings in wire and silk paper.

C'est le moment d'ajouter les détails, griffes, pics, cornes et que sais-je encore ....

It is the moment to add details, claws, peaks, horns and whatever still ....

Une autre étape avec la première couche de Gesso. Puis une deuxième.

Another stage with the first coat of Gesso. Then the second.

Il ne reste plus qu'à peindre à l'acrylique.

All that remains is to paint with acrylic.

Les coqs sont cuits et prêts aussi à être peints.

The cocks are cooked and ready to be painted.

Et c'est le temps de l'exposition et des portes ouvertes.

And now it's time for the big exhibition and open doors of the school.
